Endometriosis and sexuality. The symptom of painful sexual intercourse (dyspareunia) is one of the most common associated with endometriosis. In my lecture I look at this symptom in detail, explaining, which different forms it can take and to what extent education, body awareness, the strengthening of the emotional level and specific sex therapy methods and the right exercises can help. Whether you are single or in a relationship or not, a painful sex life is never normal and there are very many very good solutions for this symptom. My presentation provides initial important insights into this topic.

About the speaker:

I am Naila, a sex and couples counsellor specialising in people with endometriosis. In meiner Praxis in Hamburg sowie online berate ich Endometriose-Betroffene im Einzel- und Paarsetting. Im Fokus stehen die Stärkung der Selbstbeziehung, ein guter Umgang mit der Erkrankung und ein selbstbewusstes, lebenswertes Leben trotz Endometriose.

Through my additional specialisation in the field of sexual counselling I support people in particular with painful sexuality. This symptom severely restricts many people affected – through education and sex therapy methods I help, a pain-free and fulfilling sex life to develop. Pain during sex is never normal, not even in the case of endometriosis.

On my Instagram channel and in my podcast, I provide information on this topic and offer consultations and courses. In April 2026, a book on endometriosis self-help will be published by TRIAS Verlag, which I wrote together with three colleagues.
